Keira Knightley

Knightley was born in London as born in London, the youngest daughter of Will Knightley and Sharman Mcdonald. She obtained her first agent when she was just six years old. At that age, she started working in the fields of commercials and television. Knightley played Sabe, a small part in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). After gaining international fame as a character in the fantasy show Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003 in the role of Elizabeth Swann (a swashbuckling footballer) and was able to make her debut in the sports film Bend It Like Beckham in which she played the tomboy. She starred in the romantic comedy Love Actually and was called a promising teenager. Knightley received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her character of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice (2005). Knightley was also in many more period films like Atonement (2007, a romance), The Duchess, (2008) and Anna Karenina, (2012). Also, she performed the role of a socialite, Georgiana as part of The Duchess. In contemporary dramas, she branched out in Begin Again (2013), playing an aspirant singer In Begin Again (2013) and the Medical student for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014). Knightley came back to historical film in The Imitation Game in 2014 in which she was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. In 2018, Knightley played the writer Colette.
